Jacob Marshall Mead is a fourth-generation Hillsborite with deep roots in the community. Born and raised in Hillsboro, Jake has experienced firsthand the growth and transformation of our city.
Today, he operates a thriving small business in the very place he calls home, further deepening his connection to the community.
Education
Jake’s dedication to education began at Brookwood Elementary under the Hillsboro School District. Eager to further his education, Jacob pursued higher studies at the renowned Embry Riddle Aeronautical University located in Prescott, Arizona.
Professional Journey
Jake’s professional story is one of resilience, adaptability, and entrepreneurial spirit. He initiated his career with Zoom+Care as an early member, swiftly climbing the ladder to earn the prestigious status of “Founder”. Recognizing the changing dynamics of the company, he transitioned to American Family Insurance, where he contributed as a State Sales Analyst. But, the entrepreneurial itch never left him. In 2021, armed with experience, vision, and passion, Jake established Mead Agency and Associates, Inc., in South Hillsboro, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his career.
Community Involvement
Jake’s commitment to Hillsboro extends beyond business. He has consistently invested his time and energy in uplifting the community. He’s an active supporter and sponsor of local organizations like the Hillsboro Schools Foundation, FFA Hillsboro, Xpose Hope & Business Against Trafficking, and The Washington County Chamber of Commerce.

A defining moment in Jake’s life was the realization of the profound impact a community has on local businesses. The belief that “A growing, vibrant and thriving community will build a successful business & community” wasn’t just a mantra for his business; it became the catalyst that propelled him towards public service. Witnessing the resilience and growth of Hillsboro made Jake recognize the potential of what more could be achieved for the community, thus shaping his decision to run for office.
